This song has long been a familiar one to me. But so many times I’m afraid I tend to just sing the song and neglect to truly think about the words of the song. The other day I actually sat down and thought about the message it‘s trying to portray. For some reason it just ‘hit home’. It has become my heart’s cry over the last few days. I thought I’d share it with all of you. Take just a moment to really ponder the words, make them a part of your life, and praise our awesome God for always ‘being there’ when we need Him! -Rachel

Lord I need You- by Ron Hamilton
Sometimes when life seems gentle and blessings flood my way,
I turn my gave away from You. And soon forget to pray.

But when the sky grows darker and courage turns to fear,
My anxious voice cries upward with words you long to hear.

Lord I need you when the sea of life is calm.
O Lord, I need you when the wind in blowing strong.
Whether trials come or cease, keep me always on my knees.
Lord, I need you. Lord, I need you

Lord, help me to remember I’m weak but you are strong.
I cannot sing apart from You, for Lord, you are my song.
Although I’m prone to wander and boast in all I do:
Lord, keep my eyes turned upward so I depend on You.

Lord, I need You when the sea of life is calm.
O Lord, I need You when the wind is blowing strong.
Whether trials come or cease, keep me always on my knees.
Lord, I need You. Lord, I need You.

A Plea for Holiness - by Ruth Mast

Lord, may my life be pure and holy,
Free from all strife, humble and lowly;
A vessel that’s fit for the potter’s use,
May Thy will be done, not what I choose.

And as You perfect me, Lord I pray,
May I be willing each passing day;
To say ‘no’ to the flesh and selfish desires,
And hear You calling me ever higher.

Though the world loudly call,
And those around me may fall;
I’ll walk in your holy ways,
All for Your glory and praise.

Though friends turn against me,
May this ever be my plea;
Holier, higher, purer, I pray,
Lead me O God in Thy holy way.
