Set My Heart Aflame

SET MY HEART AFLAME

Give me, oh God, a hunger,
A hunger for thy word,
A hunger for the power of God,
A vision bright, unblurred.

Lord, make my soul so thirst
That I won’t be content
With less than living waters
And power from heaven sent.



Make me alert and eager,
Obsessed with great desire
For all that heaven offers--
For strength, for love, for fire.

My seeking soul is waiting
For all you want to give.
I have but one great passion--
For Christ alone to live.

Lord, fill my soul completely
And set my heart aflame.
May all my words and actions
Bring honor to Thy Name.
