"And We Wonder Why The Test....

When we try to do our best, But we'll understand it better by and by"

Do you ever feel like you're giving 110% but it's not good enough?

You try and you try and you try and you try but it's never quite right, never what it ought to be, never as good as you know you could do if....

If what?

I've often wished I were a little stronger, so I could try a little harder, but I've also wished I weren't so stubborn so that I would be okay with quitting. Some people just wish they were someone else and didn't have to deal with whatever it is, and some just blame it on being a "perfectionist" and decide that they are good enough after all, they just have to accept that no one is perfect.

But, whether we kill ourselves trying, or quit way to soon and make excuses for ourselves, no one ever (until Heaven) achieves perfection.

That's why the Lord is forever reshaping us. "And the vessel that He made of clay was marred in the hand of the Potter: so He made it again another vessel as seemed good to the Potter to make it." As long as we are clay, we will be mishapen in some way, but as long as we are mishapen, the Potter will start over, and over, and over and never give up on us until He's created His masterpiece.

That's why the "test," even when we're trying so very hard... But don't give up! Refocus your energy, instead of being discouraged. Let the Potter do the shaping, and you work as hard as you can at being soft enough and flexible enough to feel His hands and let Him shape you the way He wants you. Pour your energy into becoming what "seems good to Him to make..." rather than what you think you ought to be.

He's not done working, and He doesn't want you to burn yourself out trying to be perfect now. He wants you to let Him love you, and let His love shape you. He's making you beautiful... let Him work through you, rather then trying to use Him to do your work. He is the Strength, and He is the Beauty that will make you.
