Psalm 29:2 says:
Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
When I started talking about organizing this blog one of my younger sisters made a comment about not wanting to read anything that made her feel like she had to be a Victorian princess to be acceptable to Christ. That comment solidified what I already was feeling; Mainly that Christian girls seem to be overloaded with Elsie Dinsmoore and Little Women, and left wondering how on earth to live in the world as it is now.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Elsie books, and I love victorian princesses, and I love roses, tea parties and soft quotes about gentle spirits and beautiful minds. But I also want girls to see that true beauty is not wrapped up in era's, or traditions, but in the holiness of the Lord. True beauty is the Lord. True beauty is anything and everything that reflects who He is, and what He delights in.
True beauty is holiness.
It doesn't matter if a girl likes lilies and tulips more than roses, or pinstripes more than floral prints, or coffee more than tea. It doesn't matter if they prefer running laps over embroidering, or like to sit cross legged on the floor and carve wooden ships instead of reading. A girl who's mind and heart are in tune with the Lord is a girl who is truly beautiful.
Love the Lord with all your heart. Worship Him in all that is beautiful and pure. Worship Him in the beauty of holiness, and watch as He makes you truly beautiful from the inside out.
