Sticking Out All Over

The story is told of a young boy who approached an evangelist after a revival tent meeting. "Excuse me, sir?" the little boy said politely. "You said that everyone should ask Jesus into their hearts, right?"

"That's right, son." The evangelist squatted down so he could look the boy in the eye. "Did you ask him in?"

"Well, I'd like to," the boy said, shuffling dirt with the toe of his shoe before returning his gaze to the evangelist. "But I got to figuring...I'm so little and Jesus is so big- He's just gonna stick out all over!"

"That's the point, son" the evangelist said with a smile. "That's the point."

I don't know about you, but I want Jesus to be so evident in my life that people don't just consider me a nice moral person, full of good works. I want my relationship with God to be real and vital, so like that of the apostles Peter and John that people can't help but sit and take notice.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have words said of us like those Acts 4:14 records? "When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that those men had been with Jesus"

...One life can truly make a difference. Your life plus mine makes two.

Let's get connected to the Vine so that we start bearing fruit. Let's start living in such a way that Jesus sticks out all over. Let's start loving in such a way people can point at our lives and say "I know who you are!"

Or better yet, "I know whose you are"- because they see our Lord and His love in us.
